The SE BMFA have been notified by a number of SE Area clubs that the farmer at Itford Hill has asked clubs to stop all flying on the hill.
The SE Area Chairman, Stuart Willis, has composed a letter (in the form of an email) to the farmer explaining the situation, as the BMFA see it, regarding flying models on ‘Open Access’ land.
The email details the ‘Open Access’ land restrictions (which don’t include model flying) and the extensive insurance arrangements and competence qualifications BMFA members have.
The email also asks the farmer for his specific reasons for objecting to model flying.
