*** IMPORTANT UPDATE ***
Yesterday, the CAA issued the British Model Flying Association/British Drone Flyers with its latest (eight) Article 16 Operational Authorisation for model aircraft and drone flying.
There are no significant changes to report – this is a continuation of the Article 16 provisions for our members.
This means our members can continue to fly their model aircraft and drones for sporting, recreational and educational purposes with the extra freedoms that Article 16 offers.
The ability for the CAA to be able to issue Article 16 authorisations is a direct result of the work the BMFA team, led by the BMFA CEO David Phipps, did with EASA prior to the UK leaving the EU.
