Epsom RFC – SE BMFA Scale Fly-In – Pictures

On 24th September 2023 Epsom Radio Flying Club hosted the SE Scale Fly-In at their field near Horley for a relaxing day of scale(ish) flying.
22 guest pilots from clubs across the South East attended the event which was slightly marred by a 19mph Southerly wind across the strip, but everyone managed in the conditions. Some showed a degree of discretion and kept their lighter models on the ground.

The formula for the day was – zero competitions + zero judging = a good social fly-in.
Catering was provided on the day and everyone had a really good relaxing Sunday.

Glen and Carole provided the catering for the guests, despite the wind they managed very well.

James Gordon (Caterham) arrived early with his Fokker E111

Dave Charles (Elmbridge) flew his Mitsubishi Zero several times until an engine issue forced a perfect landing in the outfield.

Arthur Elvin (Elmbridge) flew this Pitts (he also had a Zlin on the day).

John Tanner flew this Bell 47G – very impressive model

Pete Norton (Mid-Sussex Flyers) flew this Draco – virtually no take-off run even with a cross-wind, great flying.

Thanks to everyone who came and we look forward to welcoming you to our field again in the future.
